International Program Several mayors from Okinawa will be traveling to Washington and Minnesota in April, 2007, on a research tour sponsored by our organization. The officials are interested in visiting universities, colleges and high schools to see what opportunities are available for their students. They are particularly interested in hearing about Summer English Camps which the society sponsors every year. They are also looking forward to hearing about the undergraduate programs, associate degree and professional / technical / internship programs at the institutions. In 2008, they hope to attract volunteers to come and teach English in their towns and villages and hope to reciprocate by helping volunteers to learn Okinawan arts and crafts and Japanese language as well as offering other benefits like free apartments.
